Good Bye Old Friend !
Tue.Dec 20th 2011

After 22 years, New Creek VFD has ended our air cascade services. Air/Light 38 has been sold to the New Kensington VFD of PA. This was a very tough choice for the department to make, but there were several factors leading to our choice. The rising cost of maintaining all of our apparatus, the huge increase (all over WV) in workers comp, and the every day expenses of operating a busy combination department. There has also been a large decrease in requests for the apparatus's service.

Time !
Thu.Nov 3rd 2011

Members of the New Creek VFD would like to remind citizens to change your batteries in your smoke detectors this weekend when turning back your clocks.

For further information regarding smoke alarms, please visit the following link: http://www.usfa.fema.gov/campaigns/smokealarms/alarms/index.shtm

If you live in the New Creek fire district and do not have a smoke alarm in your house, please contact the fire station. We have a limited number of smoke detectors available for those in need.

Fire Prevention !
Tue.Oct 11th 2011

On Saturday, October 15th, the New Creek Volunteer Fire Department and Wal Mart have teamed together to host a fire prevention event to be held at Wal Mart, in New Creek. All local fire departments in the area of Wal Mart in Mineral County have been invited to attend. Thus far, New Creek, Burlington, and Tri Towns Fire Departments have committed to attend. Departments have been asked to bring an apparatus for show, along with fire prevention materials to be handed out. The public is encouraged to come by and see your local firefighters. This is a great opportunity to see where your levy money goes, as well as an opportunity to ask any questions you may have. The event is scheduled from 10 am to 2pm in the Wal Mart parking lot.
